When to perform Istikhara prayer?
The consultation prayer (Salat Al-Istikhara) is performed when you need to make an important decision and are hesitating between two choices: marriage, work, travel, purchase, studies, etc. It can be performed at any time except during forbidden times (after Fajr until sunrise, at zenith, and after Asr until sunset).
إِذَا هَمَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِالْأَمْرِ فَلْيَرْكَعْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ مِنْ غَيْرِ الْفَرِيضَةِ
