Supplications for the couple
بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ، وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ، وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْرٍ
Barakallahu lak, wa baraka 'alayk, wa jama'a baynakuma fi khayr.
May Allah bless you, may He bestow His blessings upon you, and may He unite you both in goodness.
Virtue
The Prophet ﷺ used to congratulate the newlyweds with this supplication. This is the sunnah to follow instead of the pre-Islamic congratulations.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ
Allahumma inni as'aluka khayraha wa khayra ma jabaltaha 'alayh, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma jabaltaha 'alayh.
O Allah, I ask You for her goodness and the goodness of what You have created her upon, and I seek refuge in You from her evil and the evil of what You have created her upon.
Virtue
Supplication that the husband says on the wedding night while placing his hand on his wife's forehead.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، اللَّهُمَّ جَنِّبْنَا الشَّيْطَانَ، وَجَنِّبِ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنَا
Bismillah, Allahumma jannibna-sh-shaytan, wa jannibi-sh-shaytana ma razaqtana.
In the name of Allah. O Allah, keep the devil away from us, and keep the devil away from what You grant us.
Virtue
The Prophet ﷺ said: If one of you says this before the conjugal act, and Allah grants them a child, the devil will never be able to harm him.
