What to do when angry
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
A'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim.
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the accursed.
Virtue
The Prophet ﷺ said that anger comes from Satan, and whoever seeks refuge in Allah from Satan, his anger will subside.
إِذَا غَضِبَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ فَلْيَجْلِسْ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَذْهَبْ عَنْهُ الْغَضَبُ فَلْيَضْطَجِعْ
Idha ghadiba ahadukum wa huwa qa'imun falyajlis, fa in lam yadhhab 'anhul-ghadabu falyadtaji'.
When one of you becomes angry while standing, let him sit down. If the anger does not leave him, let him lie down.
